Effective Date: August 31, 2026

Human Connection Initiative (“HCI,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our website, participate in our programs or events, make a donation, register for a training or class, communicate with us, or otherwise engage with Human Connection Initiative.

When payments or donations are made through third-party platforms, payment information may be collected and processed directly by those providers. HCI does not necessarily receive or store your complete payment card information.

Our website and third-party services may also automatically collect limited technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address, referring pages, and general website usage data.

Email Communications

If you join our mailing list, register for an HCI offering, make a donation, or otherwise request communications from us, we may send you information about HCI programs, events, fundraising campaigns, trainings, and community initiatives.

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in those communications.

We may still send transactional or administrative communications when necessary, such as registration confirmations, receipts, schedule changes, or information related to a program in which you are participating.

Donations and Payments

HCI may use third-party platforms to process donations, event registrations, tuition, or other payments.

Those providers maintain their own privacy and security practices. Information submitted directly through a third-party service is also subject to that provider's privacy policy and terms.

HCI does not sell donor information.

Our website and programs may use or link to third-party services for functions such as:

  • Website hosting
  • Donations and fundraising
  • Event registration

When you interact with those services, their own privacy policies may apply. HCI is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party websites or services.

Photos, Video, and Media

HCI programs, classes, trainings, fundraisers, and community events may occasionally be photographed or recorded.

When appropriate, HCI may request participant consent or provide notice regarding photography or recording. Images, video, audio, or testimonials for which appropriate permission has been obtained may be used to document and communicate HCI's work, including through our website, social media, newsletters, educational materials, fundraising materials, and other communications.

HCI is committed to respecting the dignity and privacy of the communities and individuals we serve.

Participant Privacy

Some HCI programs serve individuals or communities for whom additional sensitivity and privacy may be appropriate.

HCI seeks to limit the collection and disclosure of personally identifying participant information and works with community partners to establish appropriate privacy practices.

We do not publicly identify participants receiving HCI-supported services without appropriate permission.

How We Share Information

HCI does not sell or rent personal information.

We may share limited information with trusted service providers that help us operate our website, process donations or registrations, communicate with supporters, administer programs, or perform other organizational functions.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect HCI, our participants, our community, or others.

We take reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical measures to protect personal information.

However, no website, electronic transmission, or data-storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted electronically.

Data Retention
